Sei whale:

Date/time (local)OccurrenceLatitudeLongitudeNotes
09/24/15 19:13:31Possibly detected43.0282-65.0087This is the first time I have seen the long LF mystery tonals occurring with a nice classified sei whale downsweep. Coincidence?

Fin whale:

Date/time (local)OccurrenceLatitudeLongitudeNotes
09/24/15 17:58:31Detected43.0286-65.0147Low tonals in P14.

09/24/15 19:58:31Detected43.0254-65.0016The classified upcall in P9 looks lovely; shapely, good amplitude. There are two unclassified upcalls in P11, the first is suspiciously short and concave as opposed to convex. The third one looks good, it is long and steep but I have seen several of these upcalls that have been both classified and unclassified this summer, and there is no other evidence suggesting humpbacks are calling. Another series of LF tonals in P3.
09/24/15 20:58:31Detected43.0236-64.9994
09/24/15 21:58:31Detected43.0199-64.9908Very good example of the sequence of low tonals in P2.
09/24/15 23:58:31Possibly detected43.0041-64.94653 FW doublets.

Right whale:

Date/time (local)OccurrenceLatitudeLongitudeNotes
09/24/15 00:58:31Possibly detected43.1142-65.0197The sequence of HF calls in P4 looks suspiciously humpback-ish. First patterned calling Ive seen. 5 upcalls, one classified as right whale, but there is other, possible humpback, calling around, which raises some suspicion.
09/24/15 04:58:31Possibly detected43.0970-65.0165A bout of upcalling. The regularity with which the upcalls are made leaves doubt as to whether they are made by right whales. Marking as possibly detected.
09/24/15 07:58:31Possibly detected43.0821-65.0178Two upcalls in P13, one classified as right whale.

09/24/15 09:58:3143.0726-65.0164What are tonal sounds in P7?
09/24/15 14:58:3143.0362-64.9949a few patterned HF sounds reminiscent of humpback calling.
