Fin whale:

Date/time (local)OccurrenceLatitudeLongitudeNotes
04/22/15 14:19:32Detected41.1418-70.9292Strong pattern of high amp pulses with 15s IPI. Panel 3 has four pulses with consistent IPIs in a train, panels 4 and 5 have three pulses with same IPI/amp in train, and panels 8, 9, and 10 have same pattern (although first classified pulse in panel 10 has an inconsistent IPI with the following pulse). Enough classified, with consistent IPI/amp to justify "Detected".

Right whale:

04/22/15 20:19:32Detected41.1418-70.9292Two classified RW upcalls, with one possible unclassified upcall in panel 5.
04/22/15 21:19:32Possibly detected41.1418-70.9292FOR MARK: Technically, the protocol states that 3+ RW upcalls must be present to classify as "Detected". I'm tempted to say they are because of the strength and shape of the two classified calls, but because there are not "3+" upcalls here I'm stuck with "Possibly". Is this a case where I can use my judgment and stray from the protocol?
04/22/15 22:19:32Possibly detected41.1418-70.9292One faint, classified upcall in panel 5.

Humpback whale:

Date/time (local)OccurrenceLatitudeLongitudeNotes
04/22/15 11:19:32Detected41.1418-70.9292Many repeated downsweeps in panels 5-8, not as steep or high freq as some of the HW song we've seen before and there are what look like harmonics for some of them. But I can't think of what else would make this kind of patterned downsweep besides HW.

Notes:

Date/time (local)LatitudeLongitudeNotes
04/22/15 06:19:3241.1418-70.9292Some high freq "moan-like" PTs, but accompanied by a lot of artifacts and low amp/high freq noise. Since there is no discernible pattern, no HB downsweeps, and the tonals are occurring at various frequencies I'm convinced it's not biological.

04/22/15 12:19:3241.1418-70.9292Some short downsweeps in panels 3 and 4 but similar to cases we looked at during our meeting where there is not enough evidence (i.e. long, patterned downsweeps) to suggest HW presence.
04/22/15 14:19:3241.1418-70.9292Strong pattern of high amp pulses with 15s IPI.
04/22/15 16:19:3241.1418-70.9292FOR MARK: This was a frustrating one but I'm sticking with "Not Detected" for FW. There is a possible strong pulse train in panels 1 and 2 with two classified, but the classified pulse in panel 2 has an IPI of 17s rather than the previous 15s so there aren't enough classified within a train with consistent IPIs for me to say "Detected". Panels 8-11 have many classified pulses but there are inconsistent IPI/amps throughout the train. I'm very suspicious of spurious 20Hz noises that may be getting classified as fins.
04/22/15 17:19:3241.1418-70.9292One classified SW singlet in panel 6.
