Fin whale:

Date/time (local)OccurrenceLatitudeLongitudeNotes
04/29/15 21:19:32Detected41.1418-70.9292FOR MARK: Two pulse trains with the second pulse in each pair being at a consistently higher amp. Both have a consistent IPI of 15-16s. Panel 8 is the only panel that is concerning, the amplitudes even out between the two trains (could just be their positions changing in relation to the hydrophone?) and the last classified pair in panel 8 has a much longer IPI. What are the chances that both whales would suddenly make a pulse with an identical, longer interval?

Humpback whale:

Date/time (local)OccurrenceLatitudeLongitudeNotes
04/29/15 09:19:32Detected41.1418-70.9292Long, high amp tonal in panel 2, is that HW? The pattern of short, low amp downsweeps just above 100 Hz in panel 12 look very similar to the pattern I was seeing in previous tracking periods but were not enough to classify as "Detected" for HW until now.
04/29/15 10:19:32Detected41.1418-70.9292Given the HW song seen less than an hour ago, this similar but fainter pattern in panels 2 and 3 is enough to say "Detected" for HW.

Notes:

Date/time (local)LatitudeLongitudeNotes
04/29/15 02:49:3241.1418-70.9292Some patterned noise in panels 2 and 3 around 120 Hz, doesn't appear to be biological.
04/29/15 03:49:3241.1418-70.9292Patterned 120 Hz noise starts up again in panel 15.
04/29/15 04:19:3241.1418-70.9292PT that looks like a very short upsweep at the beginning of panel 8, but I think it may just be random.
04/29/15 04:34:3241.1418-70.9292FOR MARK: Patterned 100-150 Hz noise in panels 6-10, not sure if this part of a faint humpback song? There's enough pattern, but the lack of other calls makes me suspicious and these all appear to be almost tonal with a few that fluctuate slightly. I'm not sure what could be creating this noise.
04/29/15 05:19:3241.1418-70.9292FOR MARK: Short downsweeps in panels 2 and 11, not sure what they are.
04/29/15 05:34:3241.1418-70.9292The PTs in panels 12 and 13 are still flat but are starting to look more biological. This makes me think there is a HW singing but may be far off and only small pieces are getting picked up.
04/29/15 06:19:3241.1418-70.9292Some strange higher amp triplets under 100 Hz in panel 10.
04/29/15 06:34:3241.1418-70.9292Two classified FW pulses w/ convincing IPI in panel 3 but nothing else so I think it's just random noise.
04/29/15 09:19:3241.1418-70.9292Long, high amp tonal in panel 2, is that HW? The pattern of short, low amp downsweeps just above 100 Hz in panel 12 look very similar to the pattern I was seeing in previous tracking periods but were not enough to classify as "Detected" for HW until now.
04/29/15 10:19:3241.1418-70.9292Given the HW song seen less than an hour ago, this similar but fainter pattern in panels 2 and 3 is enough to say "Detected" for HW.
04/29/15 20:19:3241.1418-70.9292Probable SW downsweep singlets in panels 4 and 5, but faint and unclassified. It was detected in the last tracking period.
04/29/15 21:19:3241.1418-70.9292FOR MARK: Two pulse trains with the second pulse in each pair being at a consistently higher amp. Both have a consistent IPI of 15-16s. 04/29/15 21:34:3241.1418-70.9292Not enough pulses in the pattern to consider "Possibly" for FWs.
